Music flowed smoothly and peacefully through the room as the small, young girl played her flute for her parents and younger brother. Images of water nymphs playing in a crystal clear stream danced around the room as the notes were played. Illusions created by the girl’s magic, brought to life with her music, entertained the family on frequent occasions. As the girl played, and her family listened and watched, neither she nor they heard the sounds of the approaching enemy’s horses as they drew nearer to the small, secluded cottage.
